Here comes the April, the season of the Indian Premiere League matches (IPL) for the cricket lovers worldwide. IPL, a multi-millionaire affair that has been rocking the sports arena since 2008 becomes the hot-spot event for every cricket lover. A 20-20 cricket tournament played between the nine franchises cities of India started under the supervision of Rajeev Shukla, Vice-president of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India).
Although the main motto of starting the IPL cricket tournament is to encourage and attract the young generation towards exuberant activity that may boost their sporting instinct. Started its journey from the Bangalore based Chinnaswamy stadium; IPL cricket has won the heart of million cricketers and spectators across the world.
The trend of this IPL cricket tournament includes eight to ten teams comprising of cricket players belonging to the international as well as domestic stream. The respective teams are made to represent the different regions of India and are selected by the major business tycoons and celebrities in and around India to give a new appeal of uniqueness and leisure to the cricket industry.
The IPL matches are being played in twenty-20 format against each team. The four winning teams enter into the semi-finals and then the two winning team from the semi-final will go for the grand finale. Having short playing span, the IPL matches are usually scheduled at night that makes the whole cricket activity full of entertainment and excitement. This helps the cricket fans to enjoy the each and every flavour of the sporting activity with free mind and stress.
The major teams attempted to be the part of the IPL cricket are Mumbai Indians (owned by Mukesh Ambani), Royal Challengers Bangalore (headed by Vijay Mallaya), Chennai Super Kings (owned by India Cement and Gurunath), Rajasthan Royals (owned by Shilpa Shetty), Delhi Daredevils (headed by GMR group), Kolkatta Knight Riders (owned by Shahrukh Khan), Hyderabad Deccan Chargers (owned by Venkatram Reddy), Kings XI Punjab (headed by Ness Wedia, Preity Zinta) and last, but not the least Pune Warriors India (owned by Subrata Roy Sahara).
